The stamped steel is a lot more solid than the plastic mesh I was expecting, and it dropped right into the original trim ring without any fiddling. Took maybe five minutes to swap out, and it’s protecting the cone while still letting the bass breathe.
Finally got around to installing this after my factory grille cracked, and the stamped steel feels way more solid than I expected. It fit snugly once I reused the original trim ring, as the listing said, and the 10" opening lines up perfectly with the woofer.
My buddy kept saying the factory cover on my sub would rattle loose, so I swapped in this stamped mesh insert. The fit is precise against the trim ring, and it took maybe five minutes to seat properly.
